A Year Without Santa Santa Claus (1974) but more important SNOW MISER/HEAT MISER SONG
I tried to hold back on posting this one first, I only lasted 4 days. The movie overall is OK nothing great but not as bad as any of the horrible sequels that came years later to curse many Rafkin/Bass Productions. However dead center in the show the two most memorable characters appear with the most memorable songs that are to grace the Holiday Stop Motion Storytelling Genre.
For those of you who don’t recall the story here is the real quick rundown. Santa gets a cold and is going to take a break this year and not deliver presents, because his Doctor convinces Santa he is irrelevant. Mrs. Claus then finds the two dumbest elves in the shop and Vixen to search out and find proof for Santa that he is loved. They then get shot down in the war zone between Heat Miser and Snow Miser. Yadda Yadda Yadda. Vixen is disguised as a dog, gets thrown in pound, the two dumbest elves have to convince a cop that they are elves. Cop says if you make it snow in Southtown I will believe you are elves. Yadda Yadda Yadda. Mrs. Clause and the dummies go to Snow Miser to get it to snow in Southtown, but he can’t because that is Heat Miser’s Hood. So she no has to negotiate with him. Yadda Yadda Yadda……SANTA DELIVERS THE PRESENTS…..
From this meeting comes the best Christmas Song Ever, as well as a nickname for redheads and people with puffy hair (I should know I was one of the victims growing up)
