When You Saw This, You Knew Some Good Sh*t Was Comin’ On
It is a odd thing to put on a list, especially since they do not use it anymore.
But if you grew up in the 70’s and 80’s, this meant one thing. One of the many great Christmas Special was about to come on. It was the Pavlov Bell of Christmas.
About 30 minute before the show, viewers would be busy in the kitchen preparing popcorn, or Rice Krispy Treats or Pilsury Sugar Cookies (when you had to actually cut them) and sprinkle Colored Sugar on them. The TV volume was blasting so you would not miss the show (DVR was decades away and VCR where for millionaires). If you timed it right you would be sitting down with the bowl of perfectly buttered popcorn.
WHEN THIS PLAYED…
So you prepared yourself for a night of Yuletide entertainment and commercials from Peter Paul Candy, Little Debby, or that Folger’s commercial with the son that sneaks home from college and teaches his young sister the joy of Coffee addiction (I actually love that commercial).
I miss these days, and Kids these day don’t know what they are missing out on.
